Sarah Oblon '03 - Studio Art major
email: soblon@hotmail.com
news: After graduating from Hanover in 03, I served in the Peace Corps for 2 years in Malawi (Africa). I had a wonderful time, and learned a lot about everything including myself! I was fortunate enough to paint/decorate an entire church, do advertising work, and paint a black Madonna and child, which turned a few heads! When I returned, I went to Europe to look at brilliant art works from the past!
Now I am starting my second year teaching Earth Science to inner city kids in Houston at a KIPP charter school. I am also coaching cross county! It is hard work being a teacher, but it is really paying off! I am lucky because I am being flown all over the country to attend and lead conferences for leadership and science skills. I hope to soak in as much experience as possible before teaching/training over seas again some time in the future!
